Overview
The conveyor system for reorienting stone wool briquettes is an intermediate link between the packaging machine and the palletizing equipment. The system ensures reliable transportation and reorientation of the briquettes for subsequent placement on the pallet in the required orientation.
System Components:
Main transport conveyors.
Retractable cross-turning unit for briquette rotation.
Upper clamping conveyor for stabilizing briquettes during rotation.
Upper supporting conveyor for holding briquettes transported in a vertical orientation ("on edge").

Challenges and Solutions
Limited Space for the Turning Unit
The main technical challenge was placing the retractable cross-turning unit within the minimal clearance between the floor and the transport plane. To address this, a multi-stage lever system was developed to ensure compact folding and smooth transition of the unit into the working position.
Belt Sagging on the Long Inverted Conveyor
The issue of belt sagging on the long inverted conveyor was resolved by implementing a special intermediate support element design. This solution prevented sagging and ensured stable load retention during transportation in a vertical orientation.
