Overview
The transport system was developed to automate the packaging process of rubber briquettes into transport containers.
The system includes the following units and components:
Heavy-duty slat conveyors for transporting containers weighing up to 2000 kg.
Weighing conveyor with a load capacity of up to 2000 kg for controlling the total weight of the container and product.
Rotary roller conveyor for briquette transportation.
Pusher and centering unit system for perpendicular transfer and orientation of briquettes.
Device for setting briquettes on edge during transfer from the roller conveyor to the belt conveyor for X-ray inspection.
Briquette catcher for smooth transfer from the belt conveyor to the pick-point roller conveyor, changing the briquette orientation from vertical to horizontal.
Rejection conveyor for defective briquettes.
My Role
Project Management:
Organizing the production of metal structures at third-party facilities.
Mechanical Design Engineer:
Developing heavy-duty slat conveyors for transporting containers.
Head of the Design Department:
Coordinating design work on briquette transport conveyors.
Challenges and Solutions
Heavy-duty slat conveyors operate under significant loads, which required detailed strength and stiffness calculations to ensure the system's reliability and durability.
Due to supply issues with standard components, a local production solution for chain sprockets was implemented in collaboration with local manufacturers. This approach helped avoid delays and ensured timely assembly of the equipment.
