Overview
The special-purpose tool based on a spindle motor and a linear axis provides high-speed linear movement for perforating composite materials. The device’s compact and modular design is achieved by integrating all pneumatic components and connections into the machine frame.

Challenges and Solutions
Initially, perforation was performed using a spindle mounted directly on the robot flange. However, this solution failed to achieve the required performance and caused significant vibrations, which drastically reduced the robot’s service life.
The development of a tool based on a high-speed servo drive addressed these issues by ensuring stable operation, reducing the negative impact on the equipment, and increasing overall process efficiency.
